Think of the river as a banquet table. There are many options at one table. It is a feast, for whosoever is willing to partake. There are those who will come as soon as the invitation is extended and will freely partake of all that is offered. There are those who accept the invitation more of curiosity than anything else, and will decline to partake of little if any of what is laid before them, and there are those who decline the invitation, much like those invited to the banquet spoken of in Luke 14.
