Makutano
Lives Intersecting to Write God’s Story

M.K. Gantt

God is a Master Craftsman who not only has prepared good works for us to do, but prepares us to do those good works. We were created on purpose for a purpose. Makutano is a Swahili word that can be interpreted a number of ways, but generally it refers to an intersection, a crossing, or a meeting. Michael Gantt has recorded stories from more than twenty-five years of ministry in East Africa, but these stories are less about events and more about people and the intersections with their lives that have made his life and ministry in Kenya and other East African nations so rich. Makutano is full of rich drama, humor, and a little danger making it an "I can't put it down" volume. The important premise of MAKUTANO is that though each of us have a story, we are not THE story. God sovereignly brings various lives into intersection in such a way as to weave them together into such a fascinating tapestry. My story intersects with your story and in that intersection, God writes a part of HIStory. During an amazing ten year period, Michael Gantt has worked alongside the Immanuel Christian School for the Deaf and Deaf Ministries International in Western Kenya as a strategist and fund raiser, playing a key role in the development of a beautiful new campus to educate Deaf children, preparing them to compete in a difficult job market. That's where the story of MAKUTANO ends up, but the journey there is the fascinating jewel located in these pages.
