Write His Answer Ministries is the umbrella for my writing and speaking ministry and my
ministry to other Christian writers through
When I attended my first
writers conference,
I had planned to listen to several different speakers.
But after I heard you speak, I changed my plans and attended every session you
taught.
After my first writers conference, I sold the first three pieces I submitted,
mostly thanks to you.
Since then I have authored or coauthored eleven books,
written articles for several periodicals, and written greeting card copy for
DaySpring.
I edited two online magazines, Barefoot Path and Barefoot for Kids,
for three and two years respectively.
Thank you for getting my writing career started on the right track.

I felt a call to full-time Christian service as a teenager. If anyone had
told me then, however, that God was calling me to a writing and speaking
ministry, I would have said, "A loving God would never do that to me!" I
hated English in high school, and I was terrified of the public speaking class
we were required to take.
God's plan was certainly not my plan. Instead, it is "infinitely beyond [my]
highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes" (Eph 3:20 TLB)! He has given me
the joy and privilege of being part of Christian publishing since 1968. I have
made over 1,000 sales to Christian periodicals and have authored five books
including an expanded edition of
Write His Answer - A Bible Study for Christian Writers (Write Now Publications, 1999). I am the compiler and
editor of
For Better, For Worse - Devotional Thoughts for Married Couples (Christian Publications, 2004) and
My Turn to Care - Encouragement for Caregivers of Aging Parents
(Thomas Nelson, 1994, and Ampelos Press, 1999).
The Lord has opened so many doors, including the opportunity to serve on the
faculty of over 75 Christian writers conferences and to give my one- and two-day
Christian writers
seminars over 50 times around the nation. And I never cease to be awed by
what He does at each year's
Colorado and
Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference that I direct. When He
blessed me with an honorary Doctor of Letters in May 1999, all I could say was,
"Wow!" Only God could take someone who felt as inadequate as I did (and often
still do) and make all this happen.
You are
making a significant mark in the lives of multitudes
as you help and encourage aspiring writers to share Christ's gospel.

For Such a Time as This
I believe God is calling and equipping Christians to "write His answer"
the theme for the May 13-16, 2009, Colorado Christian Writers Conference and
the August 6-8, 2009, Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers Conference. But as
we're reminded in Habakkuk 2:1 (TLB), we first need to "wait to see what answer
God will give."
Please help us, Father, to
make our relationship with You our top priority. During these critical days,
thank You for Your promise that
now we have "every grace and blessing; every spiritual gift and power for
doing Your will " (1 Cor. 1:7 tlb).
But first, Lord, before we begin to write let us not forget to seek Your
answer!
I shudder to think what my life would be like if I had never met Marlene
Bagnull,
and I rejoice as I reflect on what God has already done with my
writing
through her workshops and conferences.
Without her, there would be
no Delmarva Christian Writers' Fellowship or WriTeen Crue,
not to mention
the many other organizations she has inspired.
Her conferences and mentoring
are an anchor for excellence in Christian writing.
Without her, my writing
would stink. So, thank you, Marlene, for taking my raw material
and seeing
the potential in me.
Truly, God has used you and your teachings to equip me
to "write His answer."
Help Feed the
Hungry While You Build Your Vocabulary
“About 25,000 people die
each day from hunger or hunger-related causes, most of them children.” You
can make a difference by going to
http://www.freerice.com
(the source of the previous quote). By playing their vocabulary building
game, you can donate 10 grains of rice for every correct answer. I NEVER
play games on my computer, but so far I’ve donated over 1,000 grains of
rice!
The Web site checks out
at
http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/charity/freerice.asp
as being legit. They report: “On 7 October 2007, the first day of the
site’s operations, only 830 grains were donated. As of 17 November 2007,
the number of grains of rice given away amounts to 2,457,120,420.” Currently
(February 2, 2009) over 58 billion grains of rice have been donated!
The game has 50 levels
of difficulty. The Web site says it is rare for people to get above level
48. I haven’t been able to make it past 40, but I’m determined to build my
vocabulary and even more determined to help feed the hungry. I’m praying
you’ll join me.
